St Adwena, Advent

The 13th century church of St Adwena at Advent serves some 70 households scattered on and around the moor. The church itself is situated close to Tresinney in a field at the end of a narrow track; the number of footpaths that meet at the church gives clues to its importance to those who worked on the land.

Now walkers , dogs and other visitors find a welcoming place to rest a while and soak in the peace of this special place that has been prayed in for generations.

The church is always open and refreshments are freely available. St Adwena is a corporate member of The Prayer Book Society and is part of the Celtic Quiet Places project. To find out more, go to: https://celticquietplaces.com
